PUSH ROD (0.050" shorter than standard) (UT14120-0.050P)

This is a new engine push rod - there are 16 per engine. We have become increasingly aware that the cylinder heads on a number of cars have been machined (skimmed) when cylinder head gaskets have been replaced. Very often the heads have been machined more than once and we have found that this can lead to tappet noise because there is insufficient adjustment within the hydraulic tappets to account for the fact that the push rod is still its original length but the distance between the tappets and the valves has decreased due to the machining of the heads. We have, therefore, produced a push rod which is 0.050" shorter than the original in order to help compensate for any machining of the cylinder head that may have taken place.
