REAR CRANK SEAL (From 1959 to 1991) (UE44273P)

This is the oil seal for the rear of the crankshaft. From 1980 (VIN 39529 approx) the V8 engine was fitted with a rear main oil seal. Earlier V8 engine models from 1959 to 1979 can be modified to accept this seal - see UE7488KIT. This seal is suitable for all of these applications. It is made from Viton which tolerates a far greater heat range than other materials. It has far greater misalignment and crankshaft run-out parameters than other seals. It is suitable for earlier models still fitted with a flinger and later models that take the seal as standard. It is designed to work within the parameters of the different metal surfaces it could come in contact with - early/ late cranks, sleeve (UE37777) & flinger.We highly recommend using loan tool RH9646LOAN if you are purchasing just a new seal UE44273/P from us.If you are buying a complete kit including the housing then the seal is already fitted and the tool is not required.VIDEO: Fitting Instructions for Rear Crank Seal Modification
