13:40 RATIO "CONTINENTAL" DIFFERENTIAL (Fully reconditioned) (AXLE2)

This is a fully reconditioned rear axle.This 13/40 (3.076:1) differential was the standard ratio in the Bentley Continental Sports Saloon, it provides just under an 18% uplift in gearing over a standard Bentley MKVI axle, and nearly 10% over the last Bentley R type production axle. Delivering approximately 55mph at 2000 rpm / 69mph at 2500 rpm with standard 6.50 x 16 tyres, it is nicely geared without being over geared and is suitable for the enjoyment of both short and long distant touring in MkVI, R Type and RR Silver Dawn models.The axle is upgraded to the latest production specification with the latest main casing, housing and bearing modifications. It comes complete with new crown wheel and pinion gear set, a modern front oil seal, new nuts and heavy duty washers ready for bolting up to the axle side tubes. It is supplied with a two page rebuild sheet that records every detail of the rebuild including the thickness of every spacer.We will only guarantee the axle if the rear wheel bearings have been replaced. We would prefer that you ship us your old axle and half shafts. We can then assess the condition and advise accordingly.Before supplying we request the chassis number for the vehicle the parts are being supplied for.We also ask for a description of fault with the vehicle.INFORMATION SHEET It comes with a 2 year (unlimited mileage) guarantee unless your car has been modified or altered in any way (if this is the case please contact us prior to ordering).PLEASE NOTE: This axle will only be guaranteed if the rear wheel bearings are replaced at the time of fitting.
