AXLE PINION THRUST BEARING (2 per axle) (UG13550/1P)

This is the main pinion thrust bearing for all differentials from May 1953 onwards including the full Silver Cloud and S Type range of models.There are two bearings per axle. RG6166 was the original part number for this bearing.Earlier MkVI and R Type models were fitted with triple roller bearings RG4956P.Please be aware that if you need to replace the pinion thrust bearings it is a strong indicator that the axle requires a full rebuild .Axles fitted with later taper bearing pinions are marked with letters “TB” shown on the photo attached. Although there was a changeover to taper bearings at certain chassis numbers it is wise to check the axle casing for code letters as many early chassis have been altered. Taper bearings were introduced at Bentley chassis B433 SP (12/41 ratio axle), B 380 SR (11/41 ratio axle), Silver Wraith SWB chassis WVH 77, Silver Dawn SMF42.Please also note that all the early Triple bearings are METRIC, whilst the later taper bearings are IMPERIAL, hence the difference in the pinions, which have different shaft and radius sizes.
